Solid Rocket Booster Towback

The twin Solid Rocket Boosters (SRB's) are recovered at sea after launch by the Liberty Star and Freedom. The boosters are then towed back to the Kennedy Space Center through Port Canaveral and the Banana River. The segments are refurbished and used on future flights. The top section of one SRB flown on STS-135 was actually flown on STS-1.
